Fast Track in Florence

Day 5- September 12, 2010: After a pleasant morning swim in our very nice underground pool, we packed up and headed out. We did manage to catch the bus with minimal difficulty and headed to Sienna then on to Florence. We saw the Santa Maria Novella, Santa Cruca Cathedral, the outside of the Baptistry and the Duomo. The bronze doors on the Baptistry are known as the "The Gates of Paradise" and were done by Lorenzo Ghiberti. They were quite fascinating. The Duomo was also a very impressive site, done in a Gothic Style. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and came back to Sienna only to spend 30 minutes searching for our hotel. Then we had some pretty good pizza on Il Campo square. After that we found a place with some pretty good crepes!
